This means we are usually using the same programmes, storing our data and leaving traces of our activity on computers that others use as well. Use portable applications and take your information and programmes with you when you leave your computer.

Sometimes it's hard to draw the line between trust, love and abuse. Know the signs. Promote respect. It's your right to live your life fully and freely. Reject controlling behaviour that can lead to an abusive relationship. Take back the tech!

What does being “safe” on the internet mean for you? Does it mean feeling confident about your skills? Are you concerned about your privacy? If someone found out about the websites that you visit or the information that you download, would you be at risk? Know the risks and empower yourself with knowledge.

Stop and think about the potential long-term impact of our actions when we record, share and pass on information using ICT. The culture of sharing online is not accompanied by a culture of respecting our right to privacy and safety. The violence stops with you. Take the pledge.

If you use the internet regularly, chances are, you will be searching for information using either Google, Yahoo!, Bing or ASK. Google is by far the most widely used internet search engine all over the world. This also means that these search engines are effectively the primary gate keepers of content we find online. Iit's worth reminding ourselves that we don't have to be limited to the gatekeepers we are used to all the time. We can explore  many other ways of categorising and presenting the wealth of information available, and we don't necessarily need to place all of our trust in one particular corporation. Chart a different journey into the world wide web.
